What are cookies?

These cookies are required for Vernacia to function. They cannot be disabled because the service cannot operate without them.

We do not use a separate CSRF cookie. Cross-site request forgery is prevented server-side by validating the request Origin header, so no additional token cookie is set in your browser.
Analytics cookies (with consent)
If you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner shown on your first visit, we load Google Analytics to understand how the product is used. This helps us improve features, fix bottlenecks, and prioritise what to build next. IP addresses are anonymised before Google Analytics processes them.

We do not record your name, email address, or document content through analytics. If you decline analytics cookies, Google Analytics is never loaded and the product works exactly the same.

Marketing / advertising cookies (with consent)
If you accept marketing cookies via the consent banner, we may load third-party advertising and conversion-tracking scripts — Google Ads, Meta (Facebook) Pixel, and LinkedIn Insight Tag — to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. None of these are loaded unless you opt in, and declining them has no effect on using the product.

Third-party cookies
The only third-party service that always sets a cookie, regardless of your consent choices, is our payment processor (Razorpay) when you navigate to a checkout page — this is strictly necessary to process payment. Razorpay's cookies are governed by Razorpay's privacy policy. The analytics and marketing services described above are third-party too, but — unlike Razorpay — are never loaded without your explicit consent.
How to control cookies
You have several options for managing cookies:
- Consent banner: The first time you visit Vernacia, a banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time from the footer link.
- Browser settings: All modern browsers let you block or delete cookies via their privacy settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in.
- Incognito / private mode: Cookies set during a private browsing session are discarded when the window closes.
Changes to this policy
We may update this cookie policy when we add new features or change our analytics approach. If we add new non-essential cookies, we will re-prompt your consent. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
